The past year, 2006, was the first we sailed out of Harbor View
Marina and it worked out very well. Our customers all remarked
how much easier it was when they found ample parking spaces
and cool drinks on the outside deck while waiting for their
fish to be cleaned. Many of our customers also used the tackle
shop for those last minute items just before departure.
The season
itself went fairly well. Most species were in good supply, while
a few could have been a little better. The biggest surprise
was the excellent drum fishing we had during the spring. Drum
fish from 20 to 75 lbs were had on most trips. Along with this
, the off shore sea bass trips made a good come back after two
sub-par seasons. Needless to say, we are hoping for more of
this in 2007.
The spring
striper fishing was good early. While the fall season produced
fish, the keeper ratio was not what I wanted. The change in
regulations hurt everyone in the Cape May Fleet. Our Summer
trips produced some good flounder fishing with the biggest being
8.75 lbs. Tuna fishing was inconsistent, mostly hampered by
the weather
We are
now booking for the 2007 season. Remember, weekends book quickly
and the groups who fish during the week need to reserve now
to get the date needed, especially those who are on vacation.
As always, we will start fishing in mid-April and fish into
mid-December. You can contact me via email
or call 609-884-7754 with any questions or special requests
you might have concerning a charter.
The crew of the Gallant Lady is looking forward to fishing with
you and your friends in 2007.
